Am 123. Boston Marathon werden über 30.000 Läufer teilnehmen. Die Champions Yuki Kawauchi aus Japan und Desiree Linden aus den Vereinigten Staaten führen die Männer bzw. Frauenfelder an. Der Boston Marathon ist der älteste Marathon der Welt.

The Boston Marathon started in 1897 with 15 runners. It is held annually on Patriots’ Day, which commemorates the Battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775 at the start of the American War of Independence from Great Britain.
