NORDKOREA
Ehemaliger nordkoreanischer Chefspion am Weg nach Washington für Gespräche
May 30, 2018 -
Der frühere Chefspion Nordkoreas, Kim Yong-chol kommt in New York an. Er wird Gespräche zum kommenden Gipfeltreffen zwischen US Präsident Donald Trump und dem Machthaber Nordkoreas, Kim Yong-un führen.
General Kim, 72, is a controversial figure in neighbouring South Korea, and previously served as a negotiator in inter-Korean talks.
He is believed to have masterminded numerous attacks on South Korea, including the sinking of the Cheonan military vessel in 2010, which killed 46 sailors.
Kim Yong Chol has been closely involved with talks with South Korea as well and his visit to the United States would further indicate preparations for the historic summit are moving ahead.
