October 12, 2010 - October 13, 2010 - Beijing’s role in territorial flare-ups in the South China Sea will likely dominate Tuesday’s gathering of Asia-Pacific defence ministers as they seek to protect shipping lanes vital to world trade. Ministers from 10 ASEAN states plus U.S. Defence Secretary Robert Gates, and representatives from Japan, India, New Zealand, Australia and Russia will attend the two-day summit in Hanoi.
