GRAPHIC JOURNALISM

Graphic News is based on the “school” of graphic journalism started by Peter Sullivan at The Sunday Times in London in the 1970s.
  • Sullivan combined the visual techniques used in educational diagrams and maps with the techniques journalists use to tell news stories - such as using headlines and standfirsts - together with page design, to grab the attention of the reader and tell the story. The founder of Graphic News, Duncan Mil, started his career working with Peter Sullivan at the Sunday Times.
  • Graphic journalists, such as those at Graphic News, are artists who have acquired journalistic skills - to understand the significance of the news; to select topical news stories with graphic potential; to obtain the information and visual reference needed.
