The cartoonist Larry (otherwise known as Terence Parkes 1927 – 2003) was an English cartoonist whose drawings featured an absurdist view of normal life, in a simplistic style without speech bubbles or captions.

In the 1980s he produced a series of cartoons to illustrate the “Why do we say that?” books written by Graham Donaldson and Maris Ross. Graphic News used these cartoons and the books to produce a series of 64 captioned cartoons between 1996 and 1998
