The estimated cost of rebuilding Ukraine after Russia’s invasion has risen to $524 billion, according to the World Bank Group’s “Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA4)” report.
The study, which includes data from the UN, European Commission and Ukrainian government, finds there has been a 70% increase in damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure from Russian attacks, with the estimated cost of all repairs rising by 7% from a year ago.
Approximately 13% of Ukraine’s housing has been damaged or destroyed, affecting more than 2.5 million households and accounting for $84 billion of total long-term needs.
Transportation requires $78 billion for repairs, while energy and mining needs $68 billion and commerce and industry $64 billion.
