زلزال يضرب شمال الصين

December 19, 2023 - رجال الإنقاذ يواجهون درجات  حرارة تحت الصفر للبحث  عن ناجين في أعقاب الزلزال  الذي ضرب مقاطعتي غانسو  وتشينغهاي بقوة 6.2 درجات،  مما أسفر عن مقتل 125 شخصاً  على الأقل.

The 6.2 magnitude quake hit mountainous Gansu province around midnight on Dec 18 (16:00GMT), also shaking neighbouring Qinghai.

Fatalities may rise with over 700 reported injured in icy conditions.

Earthquakes are common in western provinces such as Gansu, lying on the eastern boundary of the tectonically active Qinghai-Tibetan plateau.

China’s deadliest quake in recent decades was in 2008 when a magnitude-8.0 temblor struck Sichuan, killing nearly 70,000 people.
