تصاعد معاداة اليهود في أوروبا

By Duncan Mil

November 8, 2023 - في أعقاب أسوأ هجوم في تاريخ الدولة العبرية ، أدت العملية العسكرية الإسرائيلية للقضاء على حماس إلى انطلاق موجة من الاحتجاجات.

The resurgence of anti-Semitic incidents has seen Molotov cocktails thrown on a synagogue in Germany, Stars of David sprayed on residential buildings in France, a Jewish cemetery desecrated in Austria, Jewish synagogues attacked in Spain, and demonstrators chanting hate slogans against Jews in the Netherlands.

On Sunday (November 5), French interior minister Gérald Darmanin reported that the “number of antisemitic acts has exploded” -- 1,040 anti-Semitic acts in the country since Hamas killed 1,400 people in Israel and kidnapped around 220 more on October 7.

Der Spiegel reports that Germans are spitting on Jews in Berlin and daubing swastikas onto their homes.

“Berlin, of all places, the city from which Adolf Hitler ruled over Nazi Germany,” the magazine said.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has boosted funding by £3 million ($3.7m, €3.5m) to protect local Jewish institutions.

“At moments like this, when the Jewish people are under attack in their homeland, Jewish people everywhere can feel less safe,” Sunak said
