تأجيل سلسلة أفاتار ... مرة أخرى

By Ninian Carter

June 14, 2023 - عدّلت ديزني تواريخ إصدار الأفلام، ربما بسبب إضراب الكتاب، مما أدى إلى تأخير أفلام أفاتار الثلاثة التالية لسنوات عدة.

Disney has revealed a change to its movie release schedule, delaying the next three entries in the Avatar franchise.

The company has not elaborated on the reason for the hold-up, although the move comes as a writers strike cripples the film and television industry, triggering production shutdowns far and wide.

James Cameron’s third Avatar movie has been moved from 2024 to 2025; the fourth, originally slated for a 2026 release date, will now follow in 2029 and the fifth, and possibly final, instalment in the franchise has slipped from 2028 to 2031.

Based on this timeline, the final Avatar movie will come 22 years after the first, making James Cameron 77 years old – he was 55 when the first one was released.

Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) are two of the three highest-grossing movies ever – collectively taking $5.2 billion at the global box office.

The reshuffle also delays the next Star Wars and Marvel movies.
