By Jordi Bou

Norway is the country of the largest proponents of green solutions such as electric cars and carbon capture storage: seven in 10 new cars sold last month in Norway were fully electric.

But the country also has a massive sovereign wealth fund accumulated on the back of oil and gas output.

Since publication of UN climate report (IPPC) in August, climate change has been a top issue, with left and green parties seeing poll numbers climb.

But with the three possible candidates for premier - the Conservative party’s Erna Solberg, Labour leader Jonas Gahr Stoere, and the Centre Party's Trygve Slagsvold Vedum – favouring further oil drilling, there seems little chance of the environmental lobby calling time yet on an industry that accounts for 42% of national exports and employs around 160,000 people.
