UEFA Europa League knock-out stages continue
March 18, 2021 - UEFA Europa League Round of 16 second leg matches include a meeting between knock-out stage debutants Granada of Spain and Molde of Norway, with the Spaniards – inspired by Roberto Soldado – holding the advantage in pursuit of a quarter-final place on their European debut, just one season after they were promoted to La Liga.
Other notable second leg clashes include AC Milan facing Manchester United after the Italian heavyweights secured a stoppage time equaliser in their first leg encounter, Arsenal holding a two-goal advantage over Olympiacos, and newly crowned Scottish champions Rangers facing off against Slavia Prague.
The season culminates with the final at the Stadion Energa Gdańsk in Poland on May 26, 2021.
The 2020-21 UEFA Europa League is the 50th season of Europe’s secondary club football tournament.
The winners of the tournament automatically qualify for the 2020-21 Champions League group stage, and earn the right to play against the winners of the 2020-21 Champions League in the 2021 UEFA Super Cup.
Clubs qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national league and cup competitions.
