الدولة العبرية تتصدر حملات التطعيم ضد كوفيد19-

By Ninian Carter

January 27, 2021 - Israel is driving one of the world’s fastest vaccination programmes with 4.4 million doses dispensed – equivalent to 47.9 doses per 100 citizens.

Israel is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the world in vaccinating its population against Covid-19, with half its nine million citizens having already received their first dose, and many even their second.

To achieve this feat, competing against much larger, wealthier countries to secure vaccine supplies from global manufacturers, it used diplomacy and dangled a big carrot.

In return for plentiful supplies of vaccine, Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and health minister Yuli Edelstein, told Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla that they would build one of the world's fastest vaccination drives and, crucially, share with Pfizer all their data on the impact it has on the pandemic in Israel. Pfizer agreed and almost-weekly deliveries commenced mid-December.

With more deliveries due, Israel is now set to have a surplus of vaccines from all three main manufacturers by March.
