June 25, 2020 - European Union member states reported a total of 119 foiled, failed and completed terrorist attacks in 2019, with 1,004 arrests.

Nearly 120 terrorist plots were uncovered across Europe last year, triggering more than 1,000 arrests.

The latest figures covering terrorist incidents in 2019 have been shared by Europol's EU Terrorism Situation and Trend Report.

In total, 119 terrorist attacks were foiled, failed or completed last year in 13 EU countries, with ISIS responsible for all but one of 10 people killed and similarly, wounding 26 out of 27 people.

The attacks resulted in 1,004 people being arrested on suspicion of terrorism-related offences in 19 EU member states. The UK had the highest figures by far, with 64 attacks foiled, failed or completed and 281 arrests.
