ماراثون شيكاغو ٢٠١٩
October 13, 2019 - The 42nd Bank of America Chicago Marathon is expected to see over 40,000 participants, with runners following a scenic downtown course that ends in Grant Park, on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Chicago hosts the fifth World Marathon Major of the year, after races in Tokyo, London, Boston, and Berlin. New York will host final showpiece event, in November.
Four-time Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah from Britain, Chicago Marathon winner in 2018, heads the men’s elite field, but faces tough competition from home favourite Galen Rupp and Kenya’s Lawrence Cherono, who secured the Boston Marathon title in April.
In the women's race, defending champion Brigid Kosgei of Kenya leads the field, hoping to add to her 2019 London Marathon winners medal.
