May 1, 2019 - Sydney Metro Northwest, formerly the North West Rail Link, comprises the first stage of the Sydney Metro development, which will see the introduction of Australia’s first fully automated passenger line.

The rail line runs 36km from Chatswood to Tallawong in northwest Sydney, sections of which have been upgraded from existing infrastructure to accommodate the new fleet of single-deck, driverless trains supplied by French manufacturer Alstom.
