نهائي كأس آسيا ٢٠١٩

February 1, 2019 - Japan and Qatar contest the AFC Asian Cup final at the Zayed Sports City Stadium, in Abu Dhabi, with the winner crowned continental champions.

With both teams on six-match winning streaks at the tournament, the final between Japan and Qatar promises to be an intriguing battle. The previous nine matches between the pair have been relatively even, with Japan recording three victories, most recently in 2011, to Qatar’s two. The other four matches ended in draws.

Japan, chasing a fifth Asian Cup title, are back in the showpiece final after a surprise quarter-final elimination in 2015. After topping Group F they notched up victories over Saudi Arabia and Vietnam in the knock-out stages, before key striker Yuya Osako netted twice in the semi-final triumph over Iran.

Qatar, having their best ever performance at the Asian Cup, defeated Iraq in the Last 16 and dispatched competition favourites South Korea in the quarter-finals. Tournament top goalscorer Almoez Ali netted his eighth goal in a comfortable 4-0 semi-final win over host nation the United Arab Emirates.
