نادال وديوكوفيتش يخوضان معركة الصدارة

October 29, 2018 - November 4, 2018 - The Paris Masters, the final ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year, takes place in Paris, France. The tournament could determine whether Spain’s Rafael Nadal or Serbia’s Novak Djokovic finishes the year as World No.1.

Nadal, who has occupied the top spot for most of 2018, now faces a challenge from long-term rival Djokovic to retain his ranking with just Paris and the ATP World Tour Finals still to be played.

Djokovic began the year over 8,000 points behind Nadal following injury problems and off-court battles in 2017, but strong performances since Wimbledon in July have put him back within reach of the No.1 slot. Both players have spent considerable time as the best player in the world, with Djokovic spending 223 weeks at the summit to date, and Nadal 195 weeks.

Nadal and Djokovic are also competing with Roger Federer to amass the most “Big Titles” -- the most prestigious tournaments in men’s tennis, comprising the Grand Slams, Masters series, and ATP Finals. Federer leads with 53, followed by Djokovic with 51 and Nadal with 50. All three men have the opportunity to add to their tallies at the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals, which starts Nov 11.
