World’s first floating windfarm takes shape off Scotland

August 14, 2017 - Norwegian firm Statoil’s Hywind project is the world's first full-scale floating wind farm, set up off the north-east coast of Scotland. The five turbines, each designed to generate six megawatts of electricity, are expected to power 20,000 households from as early as October.
