Outback axes suggest humans reached Australia 18,000 years earlier than thought

July 20, 2017 - New archaeological excavations of a rock shelter in Australia’s Northern Territory suggest humans reached the continent at least 65,000 years ago, up to 18,000 years earlier than previously thought.
