Modern-day slavery on the rise

Nobel peace laureate Kailash Satyarthi has described the failure to end slavery as one of world’s biggest sins. Satyarthi, who is co-recipient of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for his work fighting child slavery in India, said it was unacceptable that almost 36 million people including about 5.5 million children are living in slavery today.
