July 12, 2012 -- Europe’s second-biggest carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroën will slash 8,000 jobs and shut its Aulnay assembly plant -- the first auto factory to close in France in 30 years -- as operating losses in the first six months of the year topped €700 million ($860m).
