Barcelona and Real Madrid resume title battle amid pandemic

June 11, 2020 - July 19, 2020 - Spain becomes the second major European league to restart their season, as the top tier of Spanish football, La Liga, resumes. Organisers are aiming to finish the season within five weeks, with a final scheduled matchday on July 19.

Perennial title rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid are separated at the top of the table by only two points with 11 matches remaining. Barcelona travel to Mallorca on the first weekend of play restarting, as Real Madrid host Eibar at the Santiago Bernabeu.
