Amazon releases music streaming metrics for first time

By Ninian Carter

January 24, 2020 - Amazon says its music streaming service has more than 55 million global customers, marking the first time it has shared such growth data.

Amazon’s music streaming service has passed 55 million users, closing the gap between it and market leaders Spotify and Apple.

Amazon is notoriously guarded about its customer numbers and this marks the first time it has released such data.

With 55 million users, Amazon is edging closer to Apple Music’s market share, which last summer hit 60 million subscribers.

Meanwhile, Spotify remains the market leader with 113 million paying subscribers and 248 million total monthly users.
