December 31, 2017 - Looking back at a selection of the international sporting events and sports personalities in the public eye in 2017.

Tennis masters Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal rolled back the years to secure two Grand Slams apiece, while Serena Williams won a record 23rd Slam.

Golfer Sergio Garcia tasted major glory for the first time at the U.S Masters, and Jordan Spieth picked up his third major aged only 23.

Anthony Joshua enthralled 90,000 fans at Wembley with his knockout victory over Wladimir Klitschko, Lewis Hamilton joined the greats with his fourth F1 World Championship title, Chris Froome also claimed a fourth title at the Tour de France, and track giant Usain Bolt retired after one last medal at the World Championships.

The New England Patriots and Houston Astros won the Super Bowl and MLB World Series respectively, Real Madrid continued their domination of European football, and Team New Zealand conquered the waves in the America’s Cup.

The southern hemisphere’s domination of rugby continued as New Zealand’s women won the Rugby World Cup and Australia’s male and female teams both won their Rugby League World Cups.
