FAQ: What browsers are your interactive compatible with?

In order for browsers to display interactives properly they have to be compatible with HTML5 There is generally not a problem with the browsers on tablets and mobile phones, but browsers on personal computers do not get automatically updated.

Interactives should be compatible with the following browsers or later versions:
Firefox 3.6
Safari 5.1
Internet Explorer 9
Chrome 14.0
Opera 11.1

For viewers with older browsers on which an interactive might not display, an alternative link to the equivalent “flat” graphic could be included as an alternative option.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are proofing an interactive graphic on your desktop using a browser, you need to use Firefox ESR. DO NOT use Chrome or Internet Explorer . If you do the words will not show. This is because - to quote “in order to prevent cross-site scripting hacks, Chrome and Internet Explorer are stricter than Firefox ESR in terms of where data can be loaded into pages from” - i.e. they are stricter with their “same-origin policy”. The word will show perfectly well though when the graphic is placed on a server.
